Belgium
BBL started a pilot campaign in 2006 with support of the Federal Belgian Government and Flemish Government. The pilot campaign has started with 7 large companies (e.g. truck drivers and car drivers) in which ecodriving training is combined with solid monitoring. The results and experiences of this pilot are strategic in further communication to spread ecodriving in Flanders. In addition there are four training networks in Belgium offering special ecodriving courses for drivers who already have a driving licence.
The ecodriving campaign in Belgium has different target groups (companies, driving schools, young people) and consists of following elements:
Ecodriving-website
- At the national website www.eco-driving.be you can find all information about eco-driving. In the beginning of 2008 the website all information will be available in French as well.
Demonstrations and presentations at events and car shows
- During the campaign some practical ecodriving demonstrations are given in few bigger public events and possibly also in car retailers’ weekend shows. Also private demonstration events are arranged together with car leasing companies and car dealers for their major customers.
Awareness raising, marketing and public relations
- The marketing material includes brochures, cards, posters. The brochures and cards are available for the co-operators to distribute.
